Progressive metal giants Dream Theater are premiering their brand new lyric video for the single ‘Build Me Up, Break Me Down,’ from the band’s 11th studio album ‘A Dramatic Turn of Events’ . ‘Build Me Up, Break Me Down’ sets a new bar for lyric videos, nearly capturing the production quality of a full-on music video.

The video for ‘Build Me Up, Break Me Down’ is based on the album art from ‘A Dramatic Turn of Events,’ using CGI effects to depict the imagery of the “unicycle man” in motion as he progresses across a tight rope. Other captivating parts of the music video illustrate space, a massive storm and a shark with the Dream Theater logo on its fin.

In a recent interview with Full Metal Jackie, Dream Theater frontman James LaBrie spoke about the birth of ‘A Dramatic Turn of Events.’ Check out the entire Q&A here.

Dream Theater were just nominated for their first Grammy Award in their legendary career for ‘Best Hard Rock / Metal Performance.’ The band will find out if they take home the golden gramophone on Feb. 12.
